Conditions of entry

Piano trios of all nationalities whose members’ combined age does not exceed 87 are eligible to enter the first International Commerzbank Chamber Music Award.

A registration fee of 150 euros per ensemble is payable by transfer on registration to:

To register correctly, competitors must ensure that by June 06, 2008 at the latest a sample recording (CD, tape or DVD) has been submitted to the competition office together with the following papers:

the completed registration form
a resumé of the ensemble and individual curricula vitae of its members
a list of the pieces prepared
a bank confirmation that the registration fee has been transferred
photocopies of the ensemble members’ identity cards or passports
high-resolution photographs (at least 300 dpi)

On receipt of the registration fee, the competition office will confirm registration in writing.

Only ensembles that have transferred the registration fee in time can be considered for entry in the competition.

Registration fees will be refunded as follows:

100% on rejection
80% withdrawal prior to August 1, 2008
50% withdrawal prior to September 1, 2008

Ensembles selected to enter the semi-finals of the competition will be notified by June 15, 2008.
No more than nine ensembles will be invited to enter the semi-finals of the competition, and three will take part in the final, which is open to the public.

Competitors overnight stays during the competition are provided in an accommodation booked by Commerzbank AG. Competitors are responsible for their own travel expenses. In registering, competitors accept the terms and conditions of the competition.

The jury’s decisions about nominations, carrying out of the competition and prize-winners are final.

In case of withdrawals the jury can decide to nominate other registered and qualified ensembles, which until then have not been considered because of the limited number of participants in the semi-final.
